What is meant by Dual Earth?
All accessories supplied by Marshall-Tufflex have dual earth terminals. This is to comply with the earthing requirements for the installation of equipment having High Protective/ Conductor currents. BS7671: 2008

What is meant by 3 Pole and 4 Pole?
The number of poles relates to the number of connections within the connector. 3 Pole refers to products with a Standard Earth arrangement and 4 Pole refers to products with a Clean Earth arrangement.

What is meant by keyed or keying?
Keying is a safety feature in that only male and female connectors with compatible supplies can be interconnected. For example 3 & 4 Pole connectors will not connect with one another.

What is the difference between a black and a white connector?
White is a Male connector and Black indicates a Female.

What do the arrows on the connectors mean?
The arrows indicate where a Male connector and a Female connector should be aligned in order to couple them together.

What does pre-wired and tested mean?
Pre-wired and pre-tested - products are fully assembled and tested according to required industry regulations in our factory, prior to delivery and installation, eliminating on-site installation time and error.

What are the differences between a Through floor box and a Terminal floor box?
Through boxes have IN and OUT connectors and are used when daisy chaining boxes (connecting boxes in a sequence) Terminal boxes have an IN terminal only and are used as the final box of a circuit or for controlling the number of boxes installed in a particular area.

Where are the Main Distribution Unit and Slave Unit positioned?
The units are positioned below a rasied access floor and can be fixed to the concrete slab.

Do you use the MDU and SU together?
Floor Boxes can be distributed from the MDU and SU. SU's are used in conjunction with the MDU to cover larger floor areas.

What would the AA referenced adaptors and the AB referenced adaptors be used for?
Both adaptors are used to populate a Distribution Board to accept the MT32 System. These can also be used to populate other equipment such as existing accessory boxes to adapt to the MT32 system.

What circuit breakers are fitted to the Floor Box Distribution Unit?
CLICK MCB's are fitted as standard, however other manufacturers MCB's and characteristic types can be installed if required. RCD protection and RCBO's can also be fitted at your request.

Does the price on the pre-assembled box include the cost of a socket faceplate?
The price is for a box and two connectors. We can supply and pre-wire most manufacturers sockets to our equipment, or alternatively you can free-issue the required socket to us for assembly.
